It started with a phonenobody could answer.
Paul Airey runs a property business in Hampshire and a 2,000-member gym in Hoddesdon. Across both, too many calls were going unanswered. The people ringing did not leave messages. They rang someone else.
So he built a number that texts every missed caller straight back, in the business's name, and finds out what they wanted. It worked. Calls that used to disappear turned into bookings.

Paul's brothers are a plumber, an electrician and a builder. They spend the day on roofs, under sinks and in lofts, with the phone in the van. They started using it on their own lines, and every part of LocalWins has been shaped by what a trade actually needs from it.

How the live numbers are counted
- Missed calls caught: every call from a real caller that reached a customer's LocalWins number, which is where calls go when the business cannot answer. Calls from the owner, our own lines, spam and known contacts are left out.
- Texts sent back: texts to callers only, never alerts to the owner.
- Jobs captured: callers saved to the business's lead list, ready to ring back. Spam, known contacts and imported lists are left out.
- Time to the first text: the middle value, for calls in the last 30 days, from the call coming in to the first text reaching that caller.
- Test accounts, our own accounts and deleted accounts are excluded. Figures refresh every ten minutes and nothing identifies a customer or caller.
